Active Voice is a youth-run literary and artistic activism publication aiming to bolster engagement in the social justice and political issues that define our time. Founded in 2022, the magazine sees a power in youth voices to enact change and inspire others to do the same. Active Voice has attracted submissions from award-winning poets and artists from across the country and is continuing to expand its reach and impact.

Who is eligible to submit?
All high school- and college-aged writers and artisits are encouraged to submit their work through our submission form. Every voice is undoubtedly worth being shared, but publication is a naturally selective process.
Which kinds of pieces can be submitted?
Active Voice accepts all forms of writing (poetry & prose) and art. Pieces must revolve around, either entirely or partly, social justice & political issues. Examples include race & identity, reproductive justice, gun violence, climate change & the environment, etc.
How can I become more involved with Active voice?
